Sean Stoddart was born on 20th January 1987 in Edinburgh, Scotland, to his mother Carole and father Thomas. He has a sister called Nicola.
 
Sean is currently 5ft 7in tall and weighs 10st 8lbs.
 
He is engaged to his fiance Laura.
 
He currently rides for the Newcastle Diamonds in the British Premier League and for the Cleveland Bays in the British Conference League, although he is currently owned by the Edinburgh Monarchs.
 
Sean first began racing speedway in 2003 with the Armadale Dale Devils in the British Conference League, spending two years with the team. In 2004 he stepped up to the Premier League with parent club Edinburgh.
 
He returned to the Edinburgh Monarchs line-up in 2006, riding alongside the Boston Barracuda Braves in the Conference League. In 2007, Sean moved south of the border to ride on loan with the Newcastle Diamonds.
 
In his short career, Sean won the Heathersfield Golden Helmet, Scottish Junior Championship in 2004, and was a part of the Dale Devils team as they rode to victory in the 2005 Conference Trophy.
